Because of you, we’ve been able to conduct critical, foundational research for 35 years and counting, but a lot has changed since the beginning. Our climate is changing at an alarming rate. We’re seeing greater numbers of animals, particularly birds, become endangered, and even go extinct each year.
We’re working hard to build programs that respond to these issues, all while the dollar continues to go less far. And, we’re counting on you to keep us counting.
This long-term monitoring data is vital for sounding the alarm about harmful changes in our environment. It must be collected! But it comes at a cost. Each year, volunteer biologists eat, sleep, breathe fieldwork for three months. Even with their generous volunteer commitment, it takes nearly $250,000 a year to power HWI’s network of raptor migration sites. Without it, we have no way to know the health of raptor populations, and in turn, our environment.
As we build the future of HawkWatch International, our hardworking team of 16 full-time staff will lead over 20 different projects from Alaska to Arizona, and from Argentina to Djibouti, focused on:
As you can see, there is still much work to be done to conserve raptors and our shared environment. To do that, we have to build the future of HawkWatch International together.
With your gift, you’ll keep us counting, and help us identify and address the most pressing raptor research and conservation priorities.
Building the future of HawkWatch International, and of raptor conservation, is critical to the health of raptors and our shared environment. We're so grateful we can count on you to keep us counting. Help us reach our goal of raising $100,000 with your gift today.
