Rachel comes from Northern California, right outside of San Francisco. She grew up hiking and exploring the West Coast with her family, stimulating her interest in wildlife and the environment. Her time spent attending Girl Scout camp every summer was especially formative, expanding her knowledge of flora and fauna.
Rachel received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from Juniata College, where she competed on the women’s volleyball team and developed her passion for policy and environmental protection. From there, she relocated to Salt Lake City in 2021 in pursuit of her Masters of Public Administration at the University of Utah. Rachel’s professional background includes legislative, data, campaign, and policy work at various nonprofit organizations and state governments across the country.
At HawkWatch International, Rachel assists with donor relations, communications, and internal policy development. She is excited about the opportunity to tag along with our researchers in the field and continue to learn more about raptors. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys summiting mountains, paddleboarding, skiing, listening to music and podcasts, and hanging out with her friends.
