We encourage you to make plans that are refundable if you are traveling in. \nJoin us at the base of the Bonney Butte HawkWatch in Government Camp\, Oregon for some Birdy Bingo at Mt. Hood Brewing Co. Meet our live Raptor Ambassadors\, play a round or two of birdy bingo\, win some prizes\, shop some swag\, and socialize with fellow bird nerds. This is a family-friendly event\, all ages are welcome. Our friends at Mt. Hood Brewing Co are kindly donating a percentage of drink sales during the event\, so please grab a glass to join us in saying cheers to 40 years of raptor conservation! \nBingo will run from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM\, and is optional. Purchase your sheets ahead of time to be ready to go when you arrive. Limited bingo sheets will be available for purchase on the day of\, but fair warning that we’ve run out in the past! Hood. But let’s be real… it’s also known for a bit of a gnarly drive\, too. \nLet us take care of the hassle of heading up to Mt. Hood by joining HawkWatch International for a special 40th anniversary field trip to the Bonney Butte HawkWatch\, just outside Portland\, Oregon. In addition to expert hawkwatching instruction from our team\, you’ll enjoy a boxed lunch from a local restaurant and round-trip transportation from a meetup point in Government Camp. \nWhat to Expect\n \nAfter meeting your fellow hawkwatchers at our meetup point\, you’ll find a seat in one of our fleet of SUVs and make the ~60-minute drive to the Bonney Butte HawkWatch. From there\, it’s a short hike up to the HawkWatch. \nWe’ll arrive just as the temperatures begin to rise and the day’s flight begins to pick up. You’ll have plenty of time to hawkwatch with our biologists and this year’s crew\, learning more about how raptors use mountain ridges and updrafts to make their way south each fall. You’ll have the chance to meet LIVE raptors up close and compete in Bird Brains—HWI’s exclusive game show for people who think they know birds! You do not need to be a raptor expert to participate.
