Wind energy is facing a green dilemma. Turbines, although they offer cleaner energy, come at the cost of injuring and killing raptors. Could there be a world in which we keep our raptors safe and use wind-powered energy? Our Research Biologist Dr. Meg Murgatroyd has created a tool that provides a win-win solution for renewables and our feathered friends.

During this lecture, Meg will explore this conservation conflict and its toll on raptor populations. She will also discuss the model she has created to help South African wind farms pick less hazardous locations for Verreaux's Eagles. Join us for this talk to hear what new applications this model holds for the future.
