Jerry Liguori Receives HWI Lifetime Achievement Award

HawkWatch International (HWI) is proud to honor author, photographer and raptor biologist Jerry Liguori with the HWI Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his commitment to raptor research, education and conservation.

Jerry started hawk watching in his home state of New Jersey in the 1980’s beginning a 30+ year career as a raptor biologist and identification expert. After working with and studying raptors across the U.S., he joined HWI as an educator in 2012. Through his work Jerry continues to inspire and educate raptor enthusiasts in Utah and beyond with his writings, photography, books and mentoring.

Along with his impact and influence in the raptor community, Jerry has authored two seminal raptor identification books: Hawks from Every Angle: How to Identify Raptors in Flight and Hawks at a Distance: Identification of Migrant Raptors, co-authored The Crossley ID Guide: Raptors and is the co-creator of the HWI Raptor ID app.
