Utah Birding - What you need and where to go!

Utah Birding - What you need and where to go!

Why is bird watching becoming one of the fastest growing outdoor hobbies? Because it's a fun, enjoyable hobby for people of all ages. You can bird watch by yourself in your backyard or as a social group outdoors in a park or mountain trail. Of course, like many things in life, you may have to experience bird watching to truly appreciate it. Give birding a chance and you may find yourself becoming one of the millions of Americans entranced by the pastime. Join HawkWatch International and Great Salt Lake Audubon for a 101 on birding in Utah. Learn what you need to get started, some of the best birding spots in the state, reference guides and learning resources, birding tips and ethics, which organizations are around and what types of trips they offer for various levels of birders, and how you can participate in eBird--one of the largest citizen science efforts in the world. We will also discuss what to do in the event that you find an injured bird. Whether you come across a nestling or an adult, we will provide you with the necessary tools to handle the situation.
