Join us by the riverside at the International Peace Gardens on Saturday September 15th from 3-7 PM for an evening of free food, entertainment, live music, games, a hypnotist show, art, and, of course. Come say hi and visit the HawkWatch Education Birds and volunteers!.
Join HWI, and other nonprofits and businesses whose missions include an active concern for the Salt Lake Valley’s air quality, for a day of information-sharing. Meet our anticipated 2,000 attendees; share your solutions-based ideas and products, both high-tech and low; offer tools to help us, in the meantime, cope with horrid air quality and create an all-ages community of citizens who care. Enjoy booths, children’s activities, skill-sharing, workshops, and more...
Please join HawkWatch International for an opportunity to meet and learn about our newest Raptor Ambassador, Chrys!
Chrys is an adult male Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos, see what we did there?) and comes to HawkWatch International after being hit by a car, the most common injury among raptors. After spending time in a wildlife rehabilitation center, Chrys was deemed non-releasable and would spend his life under human care. He'll join our other amazing Raptor Ambassadors in an effort to teach our community about conservation and the threats birds of prey face in the wild.
Stop by to meet Chrys and learn a bit about Golden Eagles. We hope to see you on February 5!
The Utah Division of Wlidlife Resources will hold the annual, and always popular, Bald Eagle Day at Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area on Saturday, February 9, 2019. Enjoy a day of Bald Eagles (and the many other raptors that ply Farmington Bay) and take advantage of the HWI experts who will be happy to help with your raptor ID challenges!
Do you like spending time outside for a good cause? Do you want to contribute conservation research to understand the biology of North America’s smallest falcon? If the answer is yes, then please attend one of these information sessions to learn about HawkWatch’s Kestrel studies, and how you can contribute. Whether you are a veteran American Kestrel nest monitor, or completely new to the effort, we look forward to seeing you at a session, and in the field!
Please Note: you only need to attend one of these orientation sessions, not both!
