HawkWatch International (HWI) respects the privacy of our donors and website visitors. To better protect your privacy, we provide this Privacy Policy explaining our offline and online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.
We collect personal information when you make purchases or reservations, make offline or online donations, or otherwise submit your contact information to HWI. We use your personal information to keep you informed about our programs and opportunities. We will not sell, share, or rent your personal information collected offline or online except under conditions listed in this Privacy Policy or as noted in our partners’ respective privacy policies. We reserve the right to use the names of donors, partners, volunteers, and supporters on the website and/or in publications and to provide your personally identifiable information to our employees, contractors, agents, and designees to the extent we deem necessary to enable them to perform database-related and communication-related services (e.g., storage of information, distribution of newsletters, etc.). If you do not want your name shown as a donor, please contact us with your request or donate anonymously. We employ security measures (physical, electronic, and procedural) to keep all information secure. We may engage third parties to process your information on our behalf; however, HWI has not granted permission to such third parties to retain, share, store, or use personal information for any purpose other than providing the requested service. For example, we currently collect email addresses from users of our app—the Raptor ID app—and this information is stored by a third party. We also request information from you, offline and online, if you purchase any merchandise, make a donation, or engage in any other financial transactions. In such cases, you must provide contact information and financial information (e.g., credit card number, expiration date, etc.). This information is used for billing purposes only. If we have trouble processing payment, this contact information may be used to contact you. We never store your credit card information in either paper or electronic form beyond the time period needed to process the applicable transaction. This credit card information is stored by a third party. To read their privacy policy, visit https://home.iatspayments.com/privacy-policy/.
To prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, and improper use of your information, we have established appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial safeguards to protect the information we collect in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We make use of SSL (Secure Sockets Layer protocol) to encrypt credit card information that is transferred via the Internet. Paper information is stored in a secure location inside the HWI office, and sensitive financial information is shredded when appropriate.
