As part of our Vanishing Vultures project, HawkWatch International will deploy GPS transmitters during the fall of 2019 to continue identifying critical vulture habitat and causes of mortality. To document where vultures eat, roost, nest and migrate, vultures will be outfitted with small solar-powered GPS units. Your contribution of $500 will help cover the cost of the transmitter. If you are able to make a contribution of $1,400, this will cover the cost of a transmitter and annual data fees.
You will get to name your transmittered vulture, which will appear on our website next to its story and photos, and track live movements and compare with the other vultures. You will also receive a photograph of your vulture species, photographed by Interantional Programs Director Dr. Evan Buechley.
