Let us introduce you to…
Meet the newest member of our flock—a male Harris’s Hawk! He was previously a falconry bird but broke his leg while hunting a rabbit. To not risk re-injury, his falconer placed him with us at HawkWatch International to inspire thousands through our education program. Help us pick his name by casting your vote below.
Lobo: Lobo means wolf in Spanish, as Harris’s Hawks are often called wolves of the sky for their pack-hunting technique.
Stax: In the desert with few places to perch, Harris’s Hawks often stack on top of each other!
Saguaro: A type of cactus that you can find in Harris’s Hawk habitat.
Tubac: This species can be seen at the Tubac HawkWatch, a spring migration count site in our network.
