She/Her

My introduction to raptors was when I was in grade school. A friend’s brother kept a hawk (sadly I can’t remember what type) and hunted with it. I was fascinated and loved watching him with his bird. My next memory is from a book I read as a teen, “The Once and Future King”. There is a chapter where a boy is turned into a Merlin and sent to spend one night in the mews to learn from the raptors.

When I met Jack in the mews of HawkWatch International, I knew I wanted to be a part of the organization. I’ve spent so many hours watching raptors while rafting, hiking, and even skiing. It’s high time I offer something back to them.
