Carol Garner

She/Her

Carol Garner was introducted to raptors when she was in grade school. A friend’s brother kept a hawk and hunted with it. She was fascinated and loved watching him with his bird. Her next memory is from a book she read as a teen, “The Once and Future King.” There is a chapter where a boy is turned into a Merlin and sent to spend one night in the mews to learn from the raptors.

When Carol met Jack in the mews of HawkWatch International, she knew she wanted to be a part of the organization. Carol has spent so many hours watching raptors while rafting, hiking, and even skiing. It’s high time I offer something back to them, she says.
