Feeding Golden Eagles During the Lean Winter Months

Winter poses significant challenges for Golden Eagles, including reduced food availability and increased competition. In Utah’s West Desert, HawkWatch International and the Department of Defense have undertaken a winter feeding research project to investigate whether providing carrion during the winter months helps stabilize population levels.
