Chris Butler

He/Him

Chris has been an educator with HawkWatch International since 2021. Originally from Minnesota, he graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth with degrees in Education and History. After college, he moved to Utah instead of becoming a high school teacher to work with animals in informal education programs. Eventually, he landed a job with HawkWatch International, where his favorite parts of the job are creating and delivering programs for people with special and diverse needs and working with the Raptor Ambassadors. Raptors inspired him to start birdwatching, and now he spends a lot of his free time doing just that with his partner. When not birding or working, he is probably playing the Pokémon trading card game or video games, fostering local shelter dogs, obsessively following the news, watching rugby and basketball, trying vegan and vegetarian restaurants (especially if they have pizza or cool desserts!), or taking long naps.
